Hermana Maxfield in South Carolina & Uruguay

woop woop two weeks down! I love it out here!  One of the best things that happened was our friend Alex came to church this week. He comes to all our English classes and soccer nights, and he totally just showed up at church hahah it was awesome.  Our Jewish friends also invited us to shabbat which was rather interesting.  One thing our mission is focusing on is finding "Amuleks" for the people we are teaching. Soo if you guys remember the sorry of Alma and Amulek, Alma was having a hard time teaching the people of Ammonihah, so an angel visited him and told him to try another way. This other way was recruiting Amulek to help him, because Amulek knew the people of Ammonihah, he was one of them. Once they we were both teaching, they had so much more success.  So with this, we've been focusing on getting members to help us with our investigators and go to lessons with us. They already know the area, people, and ward way better than us so it helps so much. We've ready se

hii everyone!!  Sorry it's taken me actually ages to write a group email haha. Just a quick update, I finished my 6 weeks at the mtc. Had a bomb district. If you didn't hear, I got reassigned to South Carolina! I flew out here about a week ago.  I flew here on Wednesday, spent a day in the mission home with about 30 other missionaries, then we got our assignments. I was assigned to the Greenville Zone, Spanish speaking woop woop.  I absolutely love the South. Everything is so green and there are huge trees just everywhere. There are also swamps everywhere, and alligators so I'll be staying away from those. The people are hilarious and are just constantly making me laugh.  One of my favorite things we did this week was teach an English class. Only like 3 people came so we decided to do a little activity.  We had three chalkboards, so we had each person draw a scene. The scene could be about anything. We were thinking like a beach scene, or a forest, or a house. Then my comp

 

  Hollllaaaa!! I am just finishing up my 6 weeks in the home mtc. It’s been quite the adventure!  I lucked out with the best companion and funniest district ever. I am so grateful that I got to spend these 6 weeks with them. Two other missionaries are going to my exact same mission so hopefully we will get to meet there! For those that didn't hear, I got reassigned to the Colombia, South Carolina mission. If you talked to me before I got reassigned, I probably told you that I just wanted to go anywhere in the south. I’m not sure why, because I’ve never actually been to the south but i feel like I'm gonna love it. I don’t really know anything about South Carolina other than its “very hot” and “very humid” so wish me luck. I have absolutely no idea when Uruguay will open up so for the time being I’m just going to enjoy being there! Home mtc was filled with lots of family and friend time.
