Welcome to South Carolina

hii everyone!! 

Sorry it's taken me actually ages to write a group email haha. Just a quick update, I finished my 6 weeks at the mtc. Had a bomb district. If you didn't hear, I got reassigned to South Carolina! I flew out here about a week ago. 

I flew here on Wednesday, spent a day in the mission home with about 30 other missionaries, then we got our assignments. I was assigned to the Greenville Zone, Spanish speaking woop woop. 

I absolutely love the South. Everything is so green and there are huge trees just everywhere. There are also swamps everywhere, and alligators so I'll be staying away from those. The people are hilarious and are just constantly making me laugh. 

One of my favorite things we did this week was teach an English class. Only like 3 people came so we decided to do a little activity.  We had three chalkboards, so we had each person draw a scene. The scene could be about anything. We were thinking like a beach scene, or a forest, or a house. Then my comp and I paired up with each person and taught them words and phrases in English from the scene they drew, so they could learn about something they were interested in. 

Welllllll my person decided to draw the Salem witch trials. complete with a witch being hung, observers clapping, and also some KKK members. 

I guess that's the south. 

Sorry this is so short! I was gonna write it tonight but apparently p day ends at 6:30 lol,

Since i probably won't write a letter muahaha I decided I'd write you guys one since I don't think I've ever done that  My week was good. My comp is good she's super fun. She definitely likes to work a little ~slower~ which is an adjustment but it's alright.  Had a zone conference with our new president and his 6 kids, his youngest is 3! Haha it was funny they introduced themselves and the 3 yr old was up there screaming the whole time lol. His oldest is 15, I think. His wife speaks pretty good Spanish, she studied it in college, although never served a mission. They lived in China for a few years, because when you're super rich you can do that kind of thing. So, they all speak fluent Chinese so that's kind of weird.  But ya he's cool.   He goes "ya when I got here, I thought president Escobar was going to talk to me about the rules and the standards, but he just gave me like 50 hugs"  It was SO funny because that's very typical preside

Hermana Party Planning

  Hii everyone What a weeeek!!  Started off getting a random vaccine from a south american doctors office, that looked like it belonged in a horror movie, in hopes of not getting deported haha. Do I know what it was for? No. But my arm really hurts Other than that, this week was pretty dang good!! We were walking down the street one day when we met Irene, who we ended up talking to and sharing a scripture with. Halfway through, she told us she was a member of our church, but just hadn't been since she was 14. She invited us over for dinner the next day and we ended up having a really powerful lesson about the Book of Mormon with her and her husband who is not a member. Then on Sunday they all came to church, it was the best miracle ever!!  The second-best part of this week though was definitely the ward party. Family History Baptism

Well just start off with the best news ever!! The Perez family was baptized this Saturday!!! Best. Day. Ever.  About a month and a half ago Hermana Fernández and I started teaching Liliana and her kids. It's been so incredible to watch them change and progress in the gospel. From the first time they came to church, they were super committed to the gospel. Her jóvenes have been attending all the activities and when we see them their countenances are just beaming.  The baptismal was a tad bit loco, but in a good way (mostly) hahah.  When we got to the church, the font was filled up like maybe a foot. We were like ahhh crap. We vigorously started filling pots of water and dumping them in the font it was a sight to behold that's for sure.  Sooo many people came to support them, which meant we were all super squished into the room with the baptismal font.
