Transferred, then transferred again
This week probably goes down as the busiest week yet!
Starting with last week. The best thing that happened was that we found a golden 11-person family! It was epic. We knocked on their door and the mom is a member, but her kids and husband are not. Immediately when we came over she was like "oh my, my brother and his family are interested let's go over rn" and we were like hype ok. So, we walked over (all Hispanincs here live within like 2 minutes of their entire extended family, it's the best) and we taught her brother and his family plus her husband and kids in one big lesson! They just loved it. The next day they came to our ward party and church on Sunday!!! Best! Day! Ever!!
The other awesome thing to happen is that Esteban is on date for Oct 10!! He's so ready and a very funny man, so his baptism is going to be way awesome. Then the crazy part happened:
We had transfers last Thursday. And Wednesday afternoon President called me and the three other reassigned missionaries that came out with me and told us we were getting moved to English areas. Since we are reassigned, we technically are English missionaries, so it was just lucky that we got to be trained in Spanish. Now, our trainers are going to be training people who were actually called here to speak Spanish.
So I'm pretty sad because even though my Spanish was not good at all, I just love the Hispanics so much. They are so humble, kind, family oriented, and love God. Not to mention, they are just so funny and I was constantly laughing with them.
I got transferred to Inman! With sister Marcchesci. She just got out of training, so this is gonna be an adventure.
Butttt then, Wednesday night at like 11, the zl's called me and told me and were like "ya actually you're going to Charleston" I thought they were kidding for a solid 10 minutes...but nope!
Sister Marcchescis companion got the "rona" so they have to quarantine for a lil' bit. So, we just switched places and now I'm in Charleston until she's out of quarantine!!
Sooo quite a wild ride hahaha
But I'm just vibing here in Charleston and we are teaching so many awesome people. It's definitely different from Spanish work. Less tacos and trailer homes and more gritz. Lots of gritz.
Small miracle from this week:
We were going to knock on a door of a lady who requested a missionary visit but hadn't responded to any calls. We got to her house and her boyfriend was outside and without even knowing our message, started telling us how he had been sober for 7 months and is looking for a church to be fellowshipped into. We were like well sir you've come to the right place.
God is so good!!!
Conference was amazing, my favorite talk was probably elder Hollands or Brother Wilcox. I noticed a lot of themes about staying on the straight and narrow path and doing those small things everyday that will help us come closer to Christ.
Have a stellar week!!!
