It's 75* and Christmas

 Hi everyone!! Sorry it's been a while. I promise I'm still alive 

The best thing to happen last week was Elfie's baptism! A few weeks ago, we found out her dad would be able to baptize her, which was the biggest miracle. These little girl's influence has brought back her parents and older brothers to church, who have been inactive for 5+ years. It has been the happiest thing to see them all at church, together as a family. 
She's only 10, but she's made the world of a difference in her parent's lives! Never doubt the impact a kid can have:) Her baptism was soo sweet, minus the part when the pianist decided to dip mid baptism haha. 

Another miracle to come this week was our girl Bessie coming to Bible study, not once, but twice!! Haha we were about to drop this woman, we haven't been in contact with her for over 4 weeks, but she just showed up out of nowhere at Bible study Wednesday night and had such a good time. 

Unfortunately, we had to push back Tony's Date bc apparently " no baptisms on Christmas Sunday" lame.  So now he's getting baptized Jan 2. He's been doing surprisingly awesome. 
He pretty much has to quit everything in the word of wisdom handbook, and I was definitely doubting how successful he'd be at it. But, he's been doing it! It'd been a huge testament to me at how Christ can make all the difference in us overcoming our trials, we simply cannot do it without him. It's like 100x times harder to overcome bad habits if we don't involve Christ in every step. 

We had this big training at Christmas conference about how to Christmas Carol and find. So our district has been caroling every night the past week. And guys, it is THE most effective finding tool. We'll start at a member's house and then when we finish singing, we ask if they know anyone else who'd want a carol. Then they promptly point to all their neighbors haha, it's like a never-ending chain. People really can't say no to singing, it's soo nice. Even though we sound like really bad. 

On a completely separate note, our car got broken into, due to the fact that I may or may not have forgotten to lock it :)

Since i probably won't write a letter muahaha I decided I'd write you guys one since I don't think I've ever done that  My week was good. My comp is good she's super fun. She definitely likes to work a little ~slower~ which is an adjustment but it's alright.  Had a zone conference with our new president and his 6 kids, his youngest is 3! Haha it was funny they introduced themselves and the 3 yr old was up there screaming the whole time lol. His oldest is 15, I think. His wife speaks pretty good Spanish, she studied it in college, although never served a mission. They lived in China for a few years, because when you're super rich you can do that kind of thing. So, they all speak fluent Chinese so that's kind of weird.  But ya he's cool.   He goes "ya when I got here, I thought president Escobar was going to talk to me about the rules and the standards, but he just gave me like 50 hugs"  It was SO funny because that's very typical preside

Hermana Party Planning

  Hii everyone What a weeeek!!  Started off getting a random vaccine from a south american doctors office, that looked like it belonged in a horror movie, in hopes of not getting deported haha. Do I know what it was for? No. But my arm really hurts Other than that, this week was pretty dang good!! We were walking down the street one day when we met Irene, who we ended up talking to and sharing a scripture with. Halfway through, she told us she was a member of our church, but just hadn't been since she was 14. She invited us over for dinner the next day and we ended up having a really powerful lesson about the Book of Mormon with her and her husband who is not a member. Then on Sunday they all came to church, it was the best miracle ever!!  The second-best part of this week though was definitely the ward party. Family History Baptism

Well just start off with the best news ever!! The Perez family was baptized this Saturday!!! Best. Day. Ever.  About a month and a half ago Hermana Fernández and I started teaching Liliana and her kids. It's been so incredible to watch them change and progress in the gospel. From the first time they came to church, they were super committed to the gospel. Her jóvenes have been attending all the activities and when we see them their countenances are just beaming.  The baptismal was a tad bit loco, but in a good way (mostly) hahah.  When we got to the church, the font was filled up like maybe a foot. We were like ahhh crap. We vigorously started filling pots of water and dumping them in the font it was a sight to behold that's for sure.  Sooo many people came to support them, which meant we were all super squished into the room with the baptismal font.
