I Lost the Keys

Image
Somehow I out did myself this week and lost our car keys for 6 hours and we were stranded at the church with no Sim card and no keys. Luckily, it wasn't entirely my fault, a member took them (on accident?) and decided to drive to Greenville for the afternoon. After like 4 hours of searching the church, they finally called us and were like oh I think we have your stuff. Haha it made for an interesting day to say the least.  Thanksgiving was the bomb. First we ate at the Burgess' who invited over Kayla and Tony and made about 17 casseroles. 10 of which were colored greens. People love colored greens here.  Then we went to Judy's who forgot she invited us over, so we sat awkwardly at the kids table lol. In other news, we met a Russian! We gave him a Russian BOM and he LOVED it haha. Then in return, he gave us dried fish jerky. We had to eat it right then and there and I about died. Imagine thin cardboard absolutely dunked in fish flavor with about a gallon of salt. Then to top

I ran out of gas

T his week has been so, so awesome. Very busy, which is my favorite.  The best part is when we put Elfie and Tony on data, in the same night! Elfie is 10 and her family started coming back to church about 4 months ago. She is super sweet and really wants to get baptized. We had an awesome lesson with her family last night, the spirit was so strong. And she's now on date for December 12th.  Right after Elfie's, we jumped in the car and I started it and I'm like ahh crap we're out of gas. Then I was like nahhh we'll be fine, we can get it after Tony's haha.   We were not fine. I've had my fair share of experiences running out of gas. I started to feel the car get super heavy and I was like oh shoot, luckily there was a gas station to our right. We pulled in, but only made it about 10 feet into the entrance before the car stopped lolol. (It was like a mega long entrance).   I was like ahhhh crap. Luckily the gas station people were very nice and let us borrow a

Still in Inman

Image
T his week was definitely a week!!  some highs:  - we had transfers and I'm staying in Inman!! - Rogelio brought his brother Rolando to church, who we are now teaching?? Perhaps  - Tony has started taking the lessons and is really doing awesome. He LOVES the book of Mormon and is already in Alma (!!) He also came to church this week with Kayla:)  - Kayla got her temple recommend on Sunday and we get to go with her to do baptisms for the dead! - Bible class!!  We started a combined Bible class this week with the elders on Wednesday nights and we actually got such a good turnout!! More people in the south will come if you call it Bible study but we still drop some BOM references in there. - My homegirl Bessie gave me a wwjd bracelet  On a sadder note, sis Marcheschi got transferred. Sad days over here bc we were always on the same wavelength and worked hard together. buttt oh well haha. Inman is still thriving! The members here are made of gold and are really working hard to involve

Trunk or Treat

Image
Honestly the best thing that happened this week was the trunk or treat! Hermana Marcheschi and I have been looking forward to this for like three weeks. If there is one ward activity that inactive people will come to, it's the trunk or treat. We had about 3x as many people there as those who come to church! Haha. We were able to talk to soo many of the part member families that we've been trying to get in contact with for the past month. They didn't really wanna talk about the gospel, but they did want to talk about Halloween and the chili cookoff haha.  In other good news, Kayla's husband Tony has come to church three times! And the trunk or treat! We've started teaching him, and he's pretty unsure of the whole thing rn, but he does love coming to church, which is so sweet. He told us that he noticed a distinct change in their lives once Kayla was baptized, so that's been such a good way for him to come to know the change that can come through the gospel.
